Shaggy Rag Wrap!

I have been working on a shaggy rag wrap for a gal in Florida. The various photos show the cut strips of fabric, assembly and the shaggy rag before and after machine washing! These pieces are just pure fun!

Tweet Birdies!!

I had taken some photos of goldfinches in my backyard and made some photo pendants. I cut the images out, laminated them, trimmed them and set them in the frames. I think they are so sweet and I will be making some more wearable art with my photos soon.

Blue and Purple Batik Baby Quilt

I had collected various fabrics that I thought would look great together someday. Well, that someday came when I decided to cut the fabric apart and put it all back together again. I made up the process of sewing the strips together and then cut them in different widths. I mixed them up and sewed the sections together in wide sections. I then sewed together the wide sections that looked like panels for a fun look. I used one layer of cotton batting in the middle and a solid color of purple batik on the back side. I used King Tut varigated cotton color thread. I free motion stitched the entire piece. Enjoy the colors! I also used the same color and style quilted pieces to decorate a sweatshirt.

Shaggy Rag Scarf

This is the first shaggy rag scarf that I made. The back is a purple batik flannel and the front is strips of calico cottons, batiks and some flannel. Someone e-mailed me last night who had looked through some of my purses on my Etsy store. She was interested in the shaggy rag totes that I had sold in the past. So, I will be making some more soon. Enjoy the photos.

Quilted Pillow for Gabby!

I met the nicest family at the Spanish Market at the Heard Museum in Phoenix about four years ago. Art carves crosses and religious statues out of Elk antler. Art and his wife have a very special daughter named Gabby and I started bringing her little things that I had made. They did not attend the show this year, so I went ahead and sent this pillow to New Mexico last Friday. I just love the Our Lady of Guadalupe fabric and also found some very floral fabrics to work around it. I machine quilted the front and back and sewed on some satin flowers.
