Angry Bird and Piggy Beads/Pencil Toppers

I made some angry birds and piggies out of polymer clay. I took these photos while they were baking in the toaster oven. I will be making some necklaces with the birds and black beads. I also made pencil toppers with the green piggies and red birds. I will be making some more soon and what a fun and challenging project it was! I tried to mix the colors as close as I could to the actual characters.

Awesome job, may I ask what you used to lay the clay figures onto?? Looks like cotton.
I am a new follower. Nice blog.

Hi there! The polymer clay artists recommend using polyfill quilt batting to rest the beads and pieces on. I think it's best to use a toaster oven outside for polymer clay. Ceramic tiles can also be used to rest items on while baking.

About Me

My photo
I enjoy silversmithing, making jewelry, beads and working with paracord. I sculpt in polymer clay and desert themes are my favorite. I'm always looking for ways to incorporate the beauty of nature into my work. My work has been published in a large book called "1000 Beads," Lark Jewelry and Beading, 2014. I have sold beads through the Glendale Bead Museum Shop, a gallery in Tucson and www.wearartbyjulie.etsy.com. I'm an artist currently showing my jewelry at the Shemer Art Center in Phoenix, AZ.
